Raise the Volume is an annual benefit to support Break the HoldBTH stands for "Break the Hold" on mental illness. BTH was established by the Halloran Family in honor of their late son, Brian Thomas Halloran, also BTH, who passed on January 23, 2018. Our mission is to promote youth wellness by educating, advocating and developing an action plan to promote mental health and raise awareness about depression and its effects in our schools and communities. Through open dialogue and communication, BTH hopes to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.Raise the Volume is a fundraiser for BTH to develop breakthrough curriculum for schools and the community:Universal DBT Training: BTH is working with the Pleasantville High School Administration to establish a comprehensive mental health curriculum for the 2018-2019 academic year. The fundraiser will support the development of this intensive program that BTH hopes to become a model for high schools throughout New York State and potentially across the country. Fund DBT educational training of PHS teachers/staff at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. Purpose is to strengthen efforts to connect to the emotional lives of the students.Develop a Parent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT Steps-A) program.Develop a comprehensive 360 degree emotional wellness program to include students, parents, teachers, staff, coaches, youth officers and community leaders.BTH will sponsor an academic award to a PHS senior that has a demonstrated record of supporting youth mental wellness. BTH is fiscally sponsored by The Mental Health Association of Westchester a 501(c)(3) organization.
